Shaban Shakoori
Real Estate Broker with Legal, Development and Landlord Experience
There is a reason clients choose to hire the most qualified broker in the Bay Area. Shaban looks at real estate differently based on his experience transforming spaces and his work as an attorney, developer and landlord. He has a deep understanding of state of the art construction methods and how they can best add value to specific properties.
Shaban tells his buyer clients which properties he likes and doesn’t like, what kind of renovations to do, how much those renovations will cost, what kind of tenant issues exist, whether there are any hidden risks and the true value of the property on the offer date and after improvements are made. Seller clients understand the current market so they can position their home to reach the most buyers, maximize their sale price and minimize their ongoing liability. This knowledge comes from years of specialized experience and it ensures that Shaban’s clients are protected from the many contracts, rules, regulations and case law that expose real estate owners to liability. Shaban’s development experience allows him to sell the future value of a property and help understand the costs in getting to that future value.
Situations come up often where specialized expertise and strong contacts are needed, like buyer financing falling through, the discovery of home defects, incomplete HOA documents or building code violations. Shaban resolves these kinds of issues quickly without jeopardizing his clients’ transactions.
Shaban sells homes and apartment buildings in and around San Francisco and Hillsborough and in select areas of Marin and the East Bay. He attended Hillsborough Schools, Menlo School, UC Berkeley and USF Law School. Shaban has lived in Foster City, Hillsborough, Berkeley and the Richmond, Nob Hill, Lakeside and Pacific Heights neighborhoods of San Francisco. As a Bay Area native with deep connections built over 40 years, Shaban’s clients benefit from a very strong network.
Shaban enjoys the challenges and rewards of our real estate market. He practiced law at top-tier San Francisco and Palo Alto law firms, where he structured and negotiated sales of public and private companies valued as high as $700M. He was one of San Francisco’s first tenancy-in-common developers. Shaban and his clients work with some of the best Bay Area contractors, designers and trade professionals, who have proven themselves to deserve being listed as resources on this site.
When Presidio Hill School needed to expand, they asked Shaban to represent them in a complex purchase of a neighboring home for $7M. One of Shaban’s clients bought an apartment building and sold it a year later for a $2M profit. Another client narrowly won a home over 8 other buyers. Shaban has access to properties that are not on the public market. He can make referrals to agents throughout the world for any type of real estate transaction.
Shaban has been one of the top producing Realtors in Northern California’s most productive real estate office since 2005.
Charity has always been important to Shaban. He and his family have been supporters of the San Francisco Symphony, Presidio Hill School, the San Francisco Ballet, Drew School and a variety of amazing organizations who have received support from Battery Powered.
